A Bar, Eatery and Roof Terrace spread over 3 floors on one of Newcastle's most historic streets. YOLO Townhouse on High Bridge Street (just off Grey Street) has been fully renovated to its once elegant interior. The IP CCTV system installed covers all areas of venue, including public and staff areas. The system has been designed to achieve facial recognition wherever you are in the building. This gives the staff and public a high sense of security. Features include 31 days playback, epos till transaction easy search, plug and play download onto a USB or Disk and each camera uses only 5watts of power.

All of YOLOs Electronic Fire and Security is remotely monitored at Phoenix Eye's state of the art Video Response Centre.

Phoenix Eye have also designed and installed a back of house access control system using biometric fingerprint readers, these allow only authorised personnel to access back of house areas using their fingerprint. This system can also be used as a time and attendance system.

Great feedback received from Galliford Try regarding Darren Perrin (Security Guard)

Darren has controlled the site in an efficient manner and manages to carry out his duties whilst understanding the needs of the individual. He has successfully carried out many tasks on my project and is the first port of call for information for many.

Darren has a way of interjecting were necessary and during the course of this complex build, I have not heard anyone say negative things about him.
Darren is our first contact as you arrive on site and is always eager to show a professional image which is a credit to Phoenix Eye. I have had many positive comments about Darren during the contract from Directors of Gallifordtry, Members of the EFA, Teaching staff of the new school, through to operatives working on site. In two recent Considerate Constructors visits, Darren has been the ambassador of my project and I am grateful for his role in securing a Performance Beyond Compliance rating for Lingey House.
During the project Darren has not had one unauthorised day off and has not been late. I would recommend him in his current role to anyone and look forward to working with him in the future.

Event Cover over the Festive Period

We provided Event Safety Stewards for Sedgefield Racecourse and Newcastle Falcons, Kingston Park

We received some excellent feedback from clients for events that we covered over the Christmas period.

Sedgefield Racecourse's Boxing Day meeting was their biggest event of the year with 4500 attendees. We provided Event Safety Stewards to manage security and assist with the smooth running of the event.

We also provided security for the Falcons Vs Saracens Rugby match where there were over 9000 attendees, this was the biggest match at Kingston Park since 2008.

We were very please to receive compliments from both clients and both events went without a hitch.

Event Security at the Cornmill Centre

At the beginning of December we provided Event Security for the Cornmill Shopping Centre

Every year the Cornmill Centre organises a parade through the city of Darlington which includes the Shopping Centre's very own Santa Claus in a sleigh pulled by real reindeer.

The event was a great success and it was great to be a part of it.

The next day we received the following feedback from the Event Organiser about the Security team we provided:

"The guys who worked yesterday were excellent and I cannot praise them highly enough. I would have no hesitation in re-booking for these guys to return next year.

A super bunch of guys who were a credit to your company."

Well done to the team who worked at the Event as well as our Event Manager Alex Hutchinson. Great work!

Great North Run 2014

This year Phoenix Eye and Phoenix Security once again provided security for the Great North Run, which is undoubtedly one of the biggest sporting events in the North East of England.

Our team provided Event Stewards to working alongside Phoenix Security's Door Supervisors to manage security during this year's race event.

This year saw the main race being won by a British person for the first time in 29 years, Olympic medallist Mo Farah.

He held off strong competition from Kenya's Mike Kigen and set a new personal best of exactly one hour. This year was the second time Mo has taken part in the 13.1 mile race.

Kenya's Mary Keitany also set a new course record to win the women's race this year, with Great Britain's Gemma Steel coming in second.

Around 56,000 runners had entered the main race with this year also seeing the millionth runner crossing the finishing line. Brendan Foster, who founded the run in 1981, said he was "immensely proud" it had reached its millionth participant.

Charity runner Tracey Cramond crossed the line with a time of just over three hours and 22 minutes, becoming the first millionth finisher ever in a running event worldwide.

She was in a mass of runners who surged through the line an hour and 22 minutes after race winner Mo Farah.

Tracey started running last year after her mother died and this year she was running to raise money for Butterwick Hospice.

Congratulations to all of the runners who took part in this year's race, in which an estimated 250 million pounds was raised for charity.

Thank you to all of our staff and management who worked over the weekend, everyone did a great job and the event was a huge success.

Great work, team!

Once again, Phoenix Eye and Phoenix Security provided security for Ladies Day at Newcastle Racecourse in Gosforth Park.

Phoenix Eye provided Event Stewards who worked alongside Phoenix Security SIA Licensed Door Supervisors to manage the security of the event.

This year, more than 20,000 people attended the event at Newcastle's Gosforth Park where temperatures reached over 25 degrees.

Phoenix Eye Event Stewards provided general event safety for the event which included car park teams and crowd control.

It was one of the busiest (and hottest!) Ladies Day Events in recent years and the event was a huge success.

Thank-you to our Event Stewards and Supervisors and Phoenix Security Door Supervisors who worked hard all day in the hot sun - excellent work, team.

Northern Pride 2014

Phoenix Eye and Phoenix Security work together to provide security for Northern Pride 2014

Phoenix Eye and Phoenix Security worked together to manage the security at this year's Northern Pride in Newcastle, which celebrates the region's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

This year the event warmed up with gigs at Newcastle's Times Square and Town Moor on the Friday night before kicking off with Saturday's Pride Parade.

The parade set off from Newcastle Civic Centre around noon on the Saturday and ended up at the Town Moor where celebrations continued across the weekend.

This years theme was Pride across the decades and people were encouraged to dress up as outrageously as they wanted.

The city centre was bursting with colour and even though there was some sign of rain it definitely didn't dampen anyone's spirits.

The Pride Parade then arrived at Newcastle's Town Moor for the weekend's main event where there were plenty of stalls, food outlets, bars, fairground rides and performances to keep the large crowd entertained.

Saturday's entertainment included leading tribute act Rhianna Reloaded, 80's pop star Sinitta, X Factor winner Shayne Ward and Northern Proud Voices, The North East's community choir for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans people.

The rain definitely didn't put a dampener on the event with over 7,000 people marching in the parade and attending the Town Moor's event - making this year the biggest Northern Pride yet.

The entertainment continued on the Sunday with yet more stars lined up to entertain the crowds including 90's Eurodance/pop group the Vengaboys.

Phoenix Eye provided Event Stewards to maintain the security at this year's event, working alongside Phoenix Security's SIA Licensed Door Supervisors, providing search teams, crowd control and general event safety.

It was great to be part of such an enjoyable event. The whole weekend was a huge success leaving both organisers and visitors extremely happy.

Thank-you to both Phoenix Eye Stewards and Phoenix Security Door Supervisors who worked across the weekend, great work team.

Northumberland Plate Festival 2014

Phoenix Security and Phoenix Eye work together to provide security for one of the leading horse races in the world

This year, we provided over 100 event safety stewards to work at the Northumberland Plate Festival at Newcastle's Gosforth Park Racecourse.

Phoenix Eye event stewards worked to manage car parking, crowd control and general event safety across the three day festival.

We also teamed up with sister company Phoenix Security who provided additional Door Supervisors to manage security on the festival's busiest day, Saturday. Phoenix Security set up a search team as well as providing Door Supervisors to work in the event's several bars and marques to help maintain a safe environment.

The Northumberland Plate is one of the highlights in the racing calendar, and has been since its beginnings on Newcastle's Town Moor in 1833. Traditionally, Plate Day was the centerpiece of the famous Race Week, when the regions mine workers were on holiday, hence why the main event is known as the Pitman's Derby, run on the Saturday.

The 140,000 pound John Smith's Northumberland Plate run, Saturday's main race, was won this year by Angel Gabrial, ridden by George Chaloner, giving North Yorkshire trainer Richard Fahey his first Plate success at Newcastle.

Over 20,000 people were in attendance across the three day festival and this year saw about 650 catering staff serving customers across more bars and marquees than previous years.

There was also an Oasis tribute band, No-oasis, an F1 driving simulator and a Queen tribute band to entertain the guests.

Once again it was great to be part of one of the biggest racing events in the region. Luckily, the weather seemed to hold for most of the day and the event on the whole was a huge success.

Thank-you to the whole Phoenix Eye event team including all of our event stewards, supervisors and Phoenix Security Door Supervisors who worked together to help make the event such a success. Great work team!

Phoenix Eye Stewards provided for Virgin Money Cyclone Challenge

Phoenix Eye provided stewards for the Virgin Money Cyclone Challenge which took place at Kingston Park Saturday 21st June

The event, which is now one of the premier cycling events in the country, is for non competitive cyclists to test their fitness and set themselves personal challenges.

On the day there were three events, each with a different distance to ensure there were plenty of challenges for everyone involved.

Each of these rides led the cyclists through the Northumberland countryside, down quiet roads and through small villages.

The events are not races but are a chance for people to come together and enjoy cycling, as well as to set themselves personal goals and try to achieve them.

The rides start and finish at the Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club at Kingston Park with several feed stations along each route.

Phoenix Eye were happy to be asked to provide stewards to oversee security at the event, managing the safety of all participants, volunteers and the general public.

New construction security contract for Phoenix Eye

Phoenix Eye in Partnership with Bowmer & Kirkland has secured a construction security contract at the prestigious St Vincent Plaza project in Glasgow.

The site will benefit from Phoenix Eye's state of the V-Ceptor CCTV system with cutting edge predator cameras and Redwall detection.

The site will also benefit from Phoenix Eye's revolutionary Biostile system which uses unbeatable biometric fingerprint technology.

St Vincent Plaza has been designed to provide top quality city centre office accommodation at a realistic and affordable level, significantly below prices for other new Grade A office buildings in Glasgow's prime office core.

It will provide very efficient and environmentally friendly office accommodation and will be delivered into a Glasgow office market where the supply of new Grade A offices has significantly reduced.

Team Adidas Dodgeball

Phoenix Eye provided Close Protection for Team Adidas at their Dodgeball event

Phoenix Eye were asked to provide a Close Protection Team to provide security for Team Adidas at their Dodgeball event at Newcastle University.

Stars of the sporting world descended on a North East university to take on students on the dodgeball court.

Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill, Ashes-winning cricketer Stuart Broad and Durham cricketing legend Steve Harmison were among the sports stars at Newcastle University yesterday for the dodgeball matches to celebrate the start of a unique partnership between the university and sportswear firm Adidas.

The partnership between Newcastle University and Adidas is the first of its kind in the UK and is designed to give two gifted sporting students scholarships and Adidas kit.

It also provides funding to improve coaching and support the student Athletics Union

The Phoenix Eye team worked well to maintain high security of both the team and the event; dealing expertly with the crowd to maintain standards and also to manage large volumes of press and some small protests.

An excellent job by all involved!
